Sarah E. Dominguez
Transfer Pathways Officer & Dual Credit Supervisor
About Sarah E. Dominguez:
I was born and raised in Albuquerque and on UNM’s campus. UNM has been part of my life as long as I can remember as I learned how to swim in Johnson Pool, learned how to ride my bike on campus, attended classes (quietly) with my parents, and participated in various summer programs for kids. At UNM, I earned a BA in Chemistry & Spanish in 2008 and MA in Educational Leadership in Fall 2023. I will complete a Post-Master’s Certificate program for Transfer Leadership and Practice from University of North Georgia in Spring 2025.
I began my career at UNM as a student employee at the Office of the Medical Investigator, UNM Alumni Relations, and the University College Advisement Center (UCAC). Immediately following the completion of my bachelor’s degree, I began working as an academic advisor for UNM. For the next 13 years served as an academic advisor in UCAC, the College of Fine Arts, CNM to UNM Transfer Advisement, and the School of Engineering. In Fall 2021, I transitioned to the Office of Advising Strategies in a new role as UNM’s Transfer Pathways Officer.
My Role in OAS
I direct UNM’s Transfer & Transition Student Center, overseeing services, programs, and pathways that support transfer, branch transition, and dual enrollment students. I also collaborate with internal and external partners to assess, improve, and streamline transfer/branch transition/dual credit policy and practices. Additionally, I serve as the staff advisor for Tau Sigma, the National Honor Society for transfer and branch transition students, manage the Dual Credit Program, supervise the staff member coordinating dual credit, and oversee student employees that support the center and OAS.
