Paige Egure
Professional Intern
About Paige Egure:
Originally from the Texas panhandle, I am a sixth-generation Tejano who left home to broaden my horizons while pursuing a higher education in New Mexico. The first in my family, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of New Mexico. While in school, I became active in a wide variety of student organizations across campus, driven by community informed outreach and activism to address the needs of marginalized students on campus. In addition, I served as a research assistant in a lab through my department, and assisted faculty & staff as a student employee.
At the end of my journey, I graduated with high honors and a newfound passion for working in higher-education mentorship. I decided to permanently move to New Mexico where I continue to work in higher education while aiming to advance my education in Psychology.
My Role in OAS:
I work with the Office of Advising Strategies as a Professional Intern. My role primarily addresses the increased need for support during peak advisement periods, such as New Student Orientation and Registration, throughout various departments across the university. I take a student-centered approach to provide students with the information and tools necessary to navigate the university landscape, meet educational goals, and facilitate their professional development.Ask me about:
- Becoming involved in student organizations
- Becoming involved in research/research participation opportunities
- Psychology-informed techniques for behavioral reinforcement, memory, and recall (improve studying!)
