Dayana Calle
Professional Intern
About Dayana Calle:
I am an Afro-Latina Albuquerquean who has lived here my entire life. I attended UNM in 2018 receiving a Film History & Criticism degree with a minor in English. I enjoyed theory and screenwriting courses, receiving an award for my screenplay from New Mexico Girls Make Movies and an interview on The Richard Eads Show in 2020.
I’ve worked at UNM on and off since 2021, moving from an office assistant to eventually becoming the Coordinator of Academics. After leaving my role in 2024, I’ve had the opportunity to teach at the collegiate level and work with K-12 students as a Literacy Instructor.
I went for my master’s degree in American Studies in 2023, focusing my research on internet extremism through violent websites. I currently have a chapter published with Palgrave. I am also an artist and got to exhibit my artwork with TrueNM at April’s 2024 ArtWalk.
I currently live with my fiancée and 3 cats. You can find me at the RoundOne arcade playing rhythm games.
My Role in OAS
As a Professional Intern, my role aids the university advising community, serving as a temporary advisor for colleges needing help during peak advisement periods. Working under OAS, I ensure students have the proper support to achieve their academic goals and be the best they can be.Ask Me About
